About Echo Theatre
Theatre That Reverberates
Stories that stay with you.
Moments that move you. Echoes that last.
At Echo Theatre, we don’t just tell stories — we build worlds. Our work is immersive, playful, and packed with heart, inviting audiences to explore, interpret, and connect in their own unique way. Whether you’re sifting through clues, uncovering a secret room, or stumbling upon a scene mid-action, our experiences are designed to spark curiosity, laughter, and reflection.
We believe theatre should be alive — something to feel, roam, question, and carry with you. From lighthearted mischief to layered social commentary, our productions are both fun and thought-provoking, grounded in strong storytelling and community collaboration.
We’re passionate about supporting a creative ecosystem where kind, curious, and committed artists can thrive — and where every contribution is valued. By fostering local partnerships and prioritizing fair compensation, we aim to create theatre that’s not only sustainable but generous in spirit.
Why Echo Theatre?
Because theatre should echo.
The name Echo captures our belief that great theatre doesn’t end with the curtain call — it reverberates. Like sound bouncing off canyon walls, our stories ripple outward, inviting audiences to carry the experience long after the final moment. Our work is designed to linger, stir, and provoke — a spark that keeps glowing.
Inspired by the Greek myth of Echo — the nymph whose voice endured even after she was gone — we honour the fleeting magic of live performance while striving to leave a lasting impression. Our immersive, curiosity-fuelled approach ensures that every whisper, every moment, and every idea has the chance to echo through the world beyond.

Meet Libby Brockman
Founder | Producer | Actor
Libby Brockman founded Echo Theatre after the roaring success (pun intended) of her immersive production Roaring. But her love for this style of storytelling goes back further — all the way to a mind-blowing night in London watching Punchdrunk’s A Drowned Man, where she wandered through a five-storey warehouse filled with forests, cemeteries, film sets and secrets. It left her wondering: could that same adrenaline and exploration be combined with a stronger dialogue-driven scenes?
The answer became Never Ending Night — a post-apocalyptic immersive drama she co-created and staged in both London and Melbourne. Sold-out seasons followed, as did the realisation that immersive theatre was no longer an experiment — it was a calling.
With a background in both performance and youth work, Libby brings a deep understanding of people, place, and purpose to everything she creates.
She trained at the National Theatre Drama School (Melbourne), with further intensives across London, Sicily, and Catalonia. She currently lives in Geelong, where she teaches at Grace Acting Studios and continues to create bold, original work that champions inclusion and connection.
Libby’s performance highlights include Mr Naismith’s Secret (TBC), Scarborough (The Honeytrap Theatre), and touring Shakespeare and children’s theatre with The Flying Bookworm and Essential Theatre.
Her next immersive production, Lights, Camera,Seance, is currently in development, written again by the fabulous Fleur Murphy.
